Quilt square swap

Bumper pads I made for my neice, but an idea of kind of how you can make squares? lol
This is the kind I LOVE to make-

Thats right ladies- I have been itching to do this for a LONG time!!! Here is what we are going to do- We will be in groups of 12, or one group, lol. ANyway- your duty is to make 12 12 inch squares. They can be as difficult and time consuming or as simple as possible. You choose the fabric, you choose the pattern, you choose the colors. Then- when all 12 are finished, you send them off to me with a check for $5 (may be more for Canada?) and I will sort through all those gorgeous squares and send you out a package with 12 fun new squares for you to do what you want with! (Pillow, baby quilt, quilt squares for a quilt....)

Awesome Swap package!

I got an awesome swap package on Thursday! I must say that Marion went way out and beyond what she needed to, but we very much appreciated it- it was awesome!!!
An awesome file folder full of fun ribbons and super cute animal fabrics I am going to go straight to work putting it into my "I spy quilt"
Baby's package (why does Blogger not do what I tell it to....) It has a darling bunny purse, 2 peter rabbit books, a easter cup and bowl, 2 eggs full of play dough (which Baby loved to put in and out of the cup and bowl and shake them!) and a Easter spinner that she loved!
Daddy gave her a succer, but she scooped this bunny right out of the package and has barely let go since! (which is why I dont have a better picture- she is sleeping with it right now!)This was seriously the cutest and cushiest bunny ever! We absolutely loved it!!
She learned how to make it light up and spin all by herself!

I sent her, a notions kit with pins, pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, (I hope because one somehow got left behind :( ) and a hem ruler (ya know, stuff you always need but never think to buy until it is too late!) I also sent her a cushy mama pad. I sent her little boy Gavin this sailboat shirt that I hope fits, a patriotic apron and some little goodies like sunglasses and easter egg chalk. I hope they enjoy their package, we sure loved ours!!

Wow, I have really been slacking this week. I have done next to NO homework, barely done any housework, and havnt even taken many pictures or made many crafts this week. One thing I did do, was praticipate in the winter blues swap- it was seriosly SOOOO much fun! If you are my partner, read no further! This is what I sent in my "5 favorate things package".
1. Skittles- I LOVE the purple kind, but I am enjoying the new citrus ones since they dont seem to have purple at my walmart any more....
2. FLip Flops- Flip flops and cowboy boots are the only two kinds of shoes I wear, PERIOD! (plus, they have them in super cute patterns at Hoby Loby for $1!)
3. Hot pink nail polish- I LOVE hot pink on my toes- it just makes everything more fun!
4. Body butter- Nothing is better than body butter on a cold winter day! We have some dry skin at our house, and this does the trick!
5. Natural Ice chapstick- I have loved this stuff since high school. In fact, I havnt had any for the past year or so, so I bought myself some too!!

My alltime favorate thing is Oreos.... I didnt send those in my packages because I thought they would end up in 2 million peices..... Oh well! haha- go buy some and pretend they are from me!

Swap extention

I realise that a lot of people arnt able to get online every day- so I will be extending the swap a couple more days- you can still sign up until Feb 8! What exactly IS a swap?

I have realised there is a reason that so many people are coming onto the site, but are not signing up for the swap. Most of you have never done a swap, maybe never even heard of it! SO here is my attempt to explain what it is to you and hopefully ease your mind so you will go sign up!

A swap just means that you trade things with your partner. In this particular swap, all you have to do is grab a box, (my new favorate mailing thing is a cereal box turned inside out! It would be the perfect size for this!!) and fill it with 5 of your favorate things! This could be a lipstick, magazine, package of candy, pair of socks and a ball of yarn- the possibilities are endless!!! Basically this is just a fun way for us all to receive a fun little box in the mail! I know I LOVE getting mail, and it is even better when it is something fun and not just bills! If you have kids, I will set you up with someone else who would like something for their kids. You do not have to spend alot of money on this whole thing either! you can do it for less than $10!

It is just really fun, and I know that once you do one, you will understand why some of us are so obsessed with them- they are really a blast!!

My name is Josie, and I am an addict......

Its true! I cant even help it! (no, its not to blogging!) I am officially adicted to swapping! HOLY COW! Can you beleive that there are people out there just like me, who want to be able to sell their stuff, but want other peoples stuff, so they swap?!? It is SO AWESOME!!!!

At the present moment I am currently "swapping" with..... 7 swaps.... UTOH! Now the only reason I can admit to that is because even thought DH has read religiously every post on our family blog- he has not read a sentence on this one... hahahahaha!

Today DH said, "Dont take this personally, but wouldnt you rather just go out and buy something nice for the baby instead of wasting all your money on swaps?" Thats when I realised that men just dont get it! Men dont understand that sometimes the highlight of a SAHM's day is going out to check the mail. Sometimes, when it is bills, it can make your day worse- but when it is something just for you, or something you have been waiting for, it can make your whole week!

So today when there was a knock on my door, I RAN to awnser it. This is what I was pleased to find in a little box mailed just for me! (ok, I WISH these would fit me, they are really for DD.... but something I have been waiting for since she was born and I knew they existed!)

Isnt she just the most adorible thing you have ever seen!!!!!!! (No, it wasnt her in the box silly, it was the pants, and a surprise hat, and bib and booties that I wasnt expecting!!)

I LOVE that baby- even more than I love swaps! :)
