What kind of candy do you give out for Halloween?
When I was growing up my parents would do king sized candy bars! Not many kids would come down our lane to trick or treat, but once they found out we had those we were having more people we had never seen than kids from the neighborhood! Someday we will do this too, but for now we just have a bunch of leftover stuff from the sheep club get together.... hahaha- (Halloween candy, I assure you!) So nothing too amazing, just nerds, laffy taffy and smarties- DH ate all the chocolates already! :(

ReplyDeleteSince both of my kids have severe food allergies, I give out twizzlers, starburst, and dum dum pops - things that my kids can definitely enjoy safely!
ReplyDeleteI used to come to your house for the king size candy bars, LOL. I do fruty things I don't like chocolate that much. So starbursta or sweet tarts.
ReplyDeleteCans of Crush pop (do you have Crush there? flavours like cream soda and grape) and suckers and junk. I give out full-size chocolate bars and full-size bags of Twizzlers to the kids we know...not to just anyone lol. And I let toddlers take as much as they want...that's lots of fun to watch :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I only buy things I won't eat like anything that is not chocolate or that has sour in the name. It is just too tempting for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't pass out stuff anymore, I go out and walk around and have fun with everyone instead now. We don't have children and the nieces and nephews who lived in the neighborhood are all grown or moved away now so I don't feel bad about it. We love to dress up and just walk around our neighborhood, it's loads of fun. When I did pass out candy it was just from those huge bags of various candies. In the later years I bought boxes of holiday pencils and I gave them away. My dental bill had made me disgusted....anyhow, I kept that up for a few years. The kids really seemed to like them too!
ReplyDeletewell this year is the family reunion and we will not be here so i do not have to worry about that.
ReplyDeletei liked the ol lady who gave out money when i was a child
