So today I am taking a different look at the crunchy Tuesday and asking for your help! hehe- Now that the gardens are starting to be fruitful we all need a little help with our recipes! So today I am asking for your help! Please link us to, or comment with your favorite recipes that use Zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, peas and green beans!
Here is my contribution-
Hamburger and fried zuccini-
Take a pound of hamburger and 3-4 squash (zuccini and crook neck/yellow squash) Cut squash into circle slices and then in half. Put beef on the bottom of a frying pan and then layer squash and half an onion cut thin on top of it. Stir around some and keep the top on as you wish and stir as you want! Salt and pepper to taste!
Hope you like it! my MIL makes it ALL the time and it is yummy!
I like my zuccini dipped in water, then butter (sliced thin) and then fried in a frying pan until crispy!
Come, enjoy, leave a comment and come back often!!

Mmmm, my zucchini didn't make it this year so I'm a bit jealous. But we usually slice it up, spice it up (all sorts of stuff from raw garlic to peppers to... you name it), and serve it up.
ReplyDeleteWe're about to have a ton of beans ready to cook up. Hopefully all of the veggies for our homemade salsa will show their ripe faces...tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, jalapeno, and cilantro. Mmmmmm!
Hugs,

Well, we love to fry zucchini. First dip it in a little egg wash (1 egg and 1 tbs or water) and then some very very seasoned flour. Then I pan fry it in butter. Also green beans, first I blanch them quickly for 1 minute, then shock in ice water, then I fry up a pound of bacon, and then when the bacon is about half done I throw in the green beans and finish cooking them with the bacon.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great. I really do not have any ideas though. Sorry..
