Its a big day in our house!

The baby starts dancing lessons today! You might think she is a bit young for this, and you would be right! The dance teacher has a daughter just 5 days younger than my babe and decided we were going to try this whole dancing thing out a year early! We will soon see how it goes! I think she is going to have a blast! And since money is so tight grandma offered to buy her a pair of pink ballets! And a tutu outfit, and another outfit.... lol! The only thing I am sad about is the fact that my camera is still being fixed and I wont have a picture of her first day of dancing! I have one from my first day of course!

SO what fun activities do your kids participate in?

Think about it Sunday

This is an issue I have been dealing with all week. What do you do when your kids are sick? Do you take them to a party, take them to Walmart to cough all over other people, take them to the nursery at church, bring them over to get baby sat without telling the sitter?

Poor baby is sick, enough so that she cried the ENTIRE time at dinner last night. She is normally a VERY well tempered kid who rarely if ever cries, whines occasionally, not rarely cries. Her nose was running, she was coughing to the point of gagging, and yes, had I not woken her up to take her to this dinner, I would have known she was sick and not gone! But we have gone all week long with a kid that comes for a few hours each morning and he has had a runny nose and been a total basketcase all week. But did the mother make mention to this when dropping him off? NOPE. Sorry, but personally that is something I would like to know before exposing my kid to this! We have a new baby being born in the family this week that we wont be able to see if we are sick, as well as a funeral to go to in the middle of the week- WE DONT WANT TO BE SICK!

But alas, we are..... Guess we will be missing yet another week of church- I am the parent who doesnt want my kid coughing on yours, just so you know!

SO funny!

Seems like I have had my fair share of bad days lately, but instead of bore you with more details, I decided to try to cheer myself up. I got online on a site that always seems to do the trick- Awkwardfamilyphotos.com where I found myself not only in a better mood, but laughing hysterically at THIS post as well as THIS one and THIS one- so next time you are having a bad day, you know where to go!

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

Seems like that is all I can say about the last week. Sorry I havnt been here much, life has officially gotten NUTS! My husband is taking 18 credits at school, trying to work, do homework and is the vice president of the sheep AND vet clubs. oh wait, the President of the sheep club resigned on Tuesday because "she just has too much of a workload with 14 credits and a family", so now DH is the new president! You know how they say when you husband gets a calling it becomes YOUR calling? yep.....

I have been frantically trying to get my homework done so I can start making some cash so he wont have to try to work on top of all this, because he is not fun when he is stressed. I I wish the shops were bringing in more dough, but I guess it is to be expected. I have been asked to teach some classes at the new Hobby Lobby, so now I just need to figure out what I want to teach! lol. I thought a begining crochet class would be fun, starting with learning about different yarns and hooks and starting a hot pad or scarf the first week, then learning more than just a single crochet and going in the round and doing a hat the second class, and then doing a "pick your project" for the third class. I started telling DH about this and he instantly told me it was a dumb idea- no one will come back if you teach them everything the first class.... well apparently he has never tried to learn how to do something that takes more than 2 steps! :) So what do you think? Would you be interested in something like this if you lived in my area? How much would you pay per class? I was thinking $10 for an hour or hour 1/2 class per person would be a fair price?

Today I have to finish my homework from yesterday because I had a rotary cutter jump off the track and into my finger, making it kind of hard to type.... I guess I should say that because I just typed all this LOL! Anyway, then I have to make some trainers, quilt a quilt, cut out another quilt, make a toddler sized jumper, make a tween sized skirt, make a couple newborn hats and gifts, nursing pads, clean my house, write a paper for DH, make posters for the sheep BBQ ect ect ect..... SO I guess I will be quite the busy gal today! :) hehehehe!

Im mad

Ug I am in a bad mood today. It all started this morning but I wont go into that. Then the baby and her new friend that I baby sit for fought and whined for 2 hours. (this 4 hour a week gig somehow went up to 12 hours a week....) Anyway, I went up to the school to get DH and was super happy to see him. That soon ended when he shot down an idea I have been going over and over in my head before I even got a chance to get it all out. Then I come home and they want over $100 to fix my camera! Yes, the camera I got on October 15 of last year! Yep, the one I paid for the 1 year warentee for, and then again for the extra 2 year warentee. yep it is suposed to be for wear and tear as well as factory defaults. Apparently these do not include impact. If a camera can break enough to need $104 worth of fixing in less than a year from a 19 month old dropping it- that is not a camera I would ever recomend! UG- now I have a broken sewing machine, computer AND camera- none of which I can afford to get fixed. Now if only the baby would nap maybe this day would get a bit better.......

Iraqi Bundles of Love

I tried to get this things im working on Thursday done yesterday, but I was busy finishing birthday gifts and making 50 baked potatoes for a vet club meeting.... So anyway- I am doing things a bit different today. I found out last week about this amazing project called Iraqi Bundles Of Love The idea behind the project is that the people of Iraq are so poor and have so little, and we are so wealthy by their standards and have so much, that we can all give a little bit. But this isnt a project about just giving random things, this project is for giving sewing, knitting, crafting and creative supplies to these people who have SO little! I know that I personally have more of these supplies than I will ever use. I have decided that this is the perfect project for me! All you have to do is to visit the IBOL web site and read up on what you should do, from picking a flat rate box, to building a bundle, and where to send the box! You can join the facebook page here. I wish I had my camera to show you my fun box! The only BAD thing about this is the fact that I am late getting the info out to you, and the deadline is on Tuesday for mailing these out! So, to make up for my boo boo, I have decided to put up a couple of special listings on my Etsy shop that will be a listing for a bundle and the shipping cost. $25 will buy you a bundle that I will pack for you, and send off in your name! Really, that is a GREAT deal! The bundle you buy will include 10 yards of fabric, a pair of scissors, a package of needles, a large spool of thread, a box of pins with a pin cussion and a pair of knitting needles with a skeen of yarn! I promise that not a cent of this money will go to me. In fact it will cost me more than $25 per box, so really it is just giving me an excuse to go all out! lol. so PLEASE! I know that money is tight for everyone right now, but this is an amazing oppertunity to make someone elses year! Please go here and check out. Or if you want to donate more, or something else or have a question, PLEASE email me at ohbabyboutique@ live.com!! Thanks in advance for helping out!

Crunchy Tuesday-

SO today I am going to do this a little different. I want to hear your opinions and comments! As Christmas is getting closer DH and I have decided to have a 90% hand made Christmas! (I say 90% because I am fairly sure he will not be making anything lol hahaha!) Anyway, I already have a few things figured out for my sisters and moms, as well as a couple things for my baby and nieces, but I want some oppinions of what yoru favorate hand made gifts have been. This is going to save us SO much money, because I have 2 huge bins FULL of yarn to be used (hats, booties, scarfs, toys ect...) as well as a bunch of leftover fabrics that need to be used (blankets, bags, crayon holders, felt food ect....) So what else? What are you guys doing for Christmas gifts? There is one big gift that I plan on purchasing, (or convincing someone else to purchase hint hint lol haha) Which is a little fisher price type table and chairs set for the kids! Wouldnt that be SO fun? We had one when I was a little girl and I LOVED it! Anyway, leave me your ideas!

Think about it Sunday

Ah, school has started! My most favorite time of year! The weather turns cool, the kids are all back in school and not at the pool or the Walmart, football season starts, and soon enough the leaves start to change. I LOVE fall! Where I live it is beautiful, but very, very short! It seams like we go from hot to freezing overnight! The baby got a whole new wardrobe the other day, but it is still WAY too hot for her to wear much of any of it yet! The air conditioning totally throws you off! hehe. I think today we will be spending a good part of outside, we need to savor the few hot days we have left! Then it is back to school tomarrow.... and back to meetings, homework, clubs...... yipee.

So what is your favorate season and why? Hope you have a great Sunday!!

Crunchy Tuesday- Composting

So you have all heard about recycling, hopefully you are all doing it in your own little way! I try, but my husband isnt very good at it, so we are working at it! Our town actually had an amazing recycling program! We live in a fairly small town (well we have 2 Walmarts lol) and they give out recycling cans to every resident so they can recycle easier!

The next big step to recycling is composting! This idea means that you take all of your food, lawn, leaf and some paper scraps and water and let them basically rot and make a gardening fertilizer type soil mixture that makes gardens and flowers thrive! THIS is a great website that has all sorts of things about composting. So what exactly would you put into a compost pile? Obvosly not things like pet waste, paper that is not acid free (newspaper, colored papers ect.), things that should be recylced, (alluminum, glass ect.) meat, bones, fish, fats and dairy are also things that should not be composted!

So what do you think? Would you throw all/most of your scraps in a bucket and putting it in the backyard to rot? Would you be able to plant in the soil that has this rotten compost? Im not sure about it! lol. I have used it, and I know people, like my parents, grandparents, who do it, but I am not quite convinced. Let me know what your ideas are about it! Anyone do it themselves? Lets hear about it!
