WFD (whats for dinner) tonight?

My DH and I have one major downfall (haha, im sure we have more! ) Anyway, we have a hard time when it comes to going out to eat. This summer we went out to eat for at least one meal a day. It may have been the fact that we lived in a house with no stove, drinkable water or a working toilet (not to mention shower) for most of the summer. Anyway, that is not the point- the point is that we spend way too much cash on eating out!

I really like to cook, I do, I promise. I just have a really hard time even knowing where to start- like what we are going to eat! For example, Monday night we had bowtie pasta and handmade alfredo sauce (I had a plan see!), yesterday for lunch nachos and last night for dinner- DH had a frozen pizza and I had a yogurt! (Anyone else have a husband who comes home and just helps himself to food instead of waiting for dinner to be served*cough started cough* and then you just go without?)

SO here is the deal- I need a good idea for dinner tonight, and its ok if it is past tonight when you awnser me, just awnser me! I need all the help I can get! Something easy, something quick, just give me some ideas! Or else we may end up having tuna fish sandwiches! YUCK!

  2. I may be late but:

I did italian chicken last night. It was easy! Just throw the chicken breasts or tenders in a frying pan with italian dressing, cover and cook. (cook slow on med high heat, so that the dressing can thicken) Then add some mashed tatoes by boiling them and mashing them with butter milk and garlic salt. YUM!!! then add a can of veggies... that's the easiest. :)

  4. We make breakfast for dinner once a week; it's very inexpensive and easy. It may be french toast, biscuits and gravy, quiche, waffles, etc

of course, pasta is always easy and cheap and you can play with it and add different toppings like veggies and olive oil, varieties of sauces, cheeses, etc

  5. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
I love soup! It's always a fall back for me. One of my favorites is Black Bean Pumpkin Soup. (http://randalswife.blogspot.com/2008/12/12-days-of-christmas-day-10.html - see "4 Hours in the Slow Cooker) It's one of those things that you can keep all the stuff to make it in your pantry and do it at the last minute (you don't have to use a slow cooker, you can do it on the stove much faster). Plus, at Sam's club, I buy these packages of fancy bread loaves in the frozen foods that are already cooked - all you have to do is stick them in the oven for 20 minutes to heat them up and brown them a little.
Soup meals with one of those loaves of bread are always my fall back - especially during the winter!
